A Repressed Memory?

Today I had something weird happen that hasn't happened ever before. I was just sitting at my computer reading an article about excessive sodium consumption, then out of nowhere a short and intense memory that I had forgotten popped into my head. Whatever the memory entailed was intense, because I felt really anxious during and after. Like a minute later, I completely forgot what it was again. I'm freaked out because I'm worried I might have more memories that have been deeply repressed. I desperately wish I could know what else my own brain is hiding or if it's only this one memory that can't be voluntarily recalled.

Is this typical of PTSD or any other disorders? Any way to get this bit back?

Repressed memories happen, yes. The fact of the recall you explain leans towards a positive recall, that the memory is accurate. As for remembering it again as you forgot it... no solution, sorry.

Looks like I'll have to wait until it happens again and hope to remember it next time or be able to write it down.
