More Good Memories

Pretty fun huh Iam? Good memories for sure. In the early 90's one of the last climbs I did was this one in Yosemite. It took my partner and I two days. I got to sleep on the cliff in a little hammock (tied to the anchors, of course). We got to the top and had no water, but then it rained like mad. We used a tarp (my idea) to collect 2 gallons of water! Slept in a little cave with these huge wood ants, but they left us alone. Next day we hiked down.

The climb goes up the faint white streak left of the obvious broken area.

I watched climbers on this rock. It is awesome! I used to want to learn to rock climb. Too old now darn it! You have wonderful memories James....and wonderful photos!

I haven't figured out how to resize the photos on here. I get the pencil and resizing cubes but nothing happens when I drag on them ..grrr;o( AH well, here are some photos of my area. You can click on them to see a larger image. It is open and free. We can ride on trails or beaches and not see a soul all day.

Wow, those are great pics Iam. And near the beach too!

What a stellar location! many thanks for posting. You know, I don't know how to do what you're doing, making a strip of thumbnails. Isn't that funny!
When I upload one pic at a time, and hover with the mouse pointer, The little pencil appears, I click on the little pencil. Up comes a dialogue box with sizing options. In the Ask The Editors section, Intothelight has a thread about this, and there's some instructional stuff that shows the pencil, and the dialogue box.
Once again very nice shots and what a cool place to live. Riding a horse on the beach must be a blast.

I love reading these! I'm a big sucker for photography, I LOVE it, and get lost in images. In my opinion one can get exactly as lost in a photograph as a painting-the same ability to evoke emotion exists in the artisit there as in a painter, song writer, etc. One also just has THAT EYE or does not. I do not-zero false modesty there I just flatly do not so am just even more fascinated by photographers work. I can't tell you-seriously-how many dam classes I took in college thinking 'well, I've got a great eye for form and color so....'. Nope-it's as elusive as anything else in the creative process. I do believe everyone on the planet has something-some outlet of creativity by which they can express themselves for personal satisfaction or otherwise. I hear a lot of 'I can't draw a straight line' in classes ( do some privately sometimes) but most can, in fact, given the confidence. I think creating perceived beauty to be as natural an impulse as breathing, in point of fact and if I ever get my aging backside back for a different degree have hazy ideas of thesis based on thwarted creativity and link between obescity, addicitons, personality disorders, etc.In kinderdarten, we get slotted, a bit-the smart kid, the funny kid, the one who runs fast, etc.-the one who can draw. Then the art teacher says 'draw a dog' and the dog which looks most like one gets a 'A'- the child is validated. The dog that looks like a camel gets a 'C'-zero validation there so child rather looses interest and probably stops really thinking themselves 'good' at this art thing, or being thought OF as 'good' at it.My dog got an A-prob had an eye and some hand/eye thing going on at early age which allowed me to achieve that, plus an awful lot of parental encouragement.

Eyes are glazing over so will shush-sorry! I'm unashamedly still in love with this mysterious eye photographers have-delights me!! WHAT lovely photos-thanks so much! It doesn't matter a bit-not a BIT whether one does any kind of art for pleasure or profit-do drag out those brushes and just PLAY! It's all play in the end, anyway-sort of the ultimate play for me, anyway. I'll try to tool around and post something in few-will find something sold years ago so won't be advertising, you know? Besides which, my niche is very much NOT everyone's cup of tea and you'll say Oh Good GOD she earns a living with THAT? :) Well, not all of it but yes, some! How shocking, but fortunate for me!

Oh and James-yes so happy to talk to someone who knows THAT world-phew!How creative juices are able to run in the midst of all that is beyond me, to be sure!

Keep talking photos, please, so I may watch and marvel. :)

Anni

Hmmm.....could it be James that when I try to load several photos at once that you cannot enlarge them? I did get the instructional box once...tried to resize and it didn't work. Then couldn't get the instruction box to pop up again. Hmmm...could it be that I use a wierless card and just don't get a quick enough connection? I will try with just one photo this time in the ask editors section.

Oh and YES...it is wonderful living near the beach and in the coastal range. Riding on the beach, galloping thru the surf.....ahhh freedom!

Thanks Anni for the encouragement!

Oldies but one gets the general idea. See? She does WHAT for a living? :) Seriously- it's all in finding one's niche they're happy with. Just lucky others seem to be happy with mine enough to wish it around their living room. Not anything slightly intimidating about this stuff!!

Those are wonderful anni! I really like them. You are very fortunate and talented.

Here's a thing I did with Illustrator back in '05ish. It looks plain (at this size) and very simple, but is designed as a background for a business card. Perhaps someday I will elaborate on the style and do more.

I bet that is the deal Iam, probably yes. To enlarge (post at specific size) am thinking the one at a time method is needed. Might be wrong, but you can test it in the testing section too. Good luck with that and once again, so neat to see your pics.

Anni I must say maam that you really do have some talent! The things you find in the strangest places eh...

A quote for you - 'I dream of painting and then I paint my dream' : Van Gogh

James your business card does bring up quite a few metaphors in my mind :)

I love them Anni! Is the Hummingbird one an actual mosaic or a picture of one? Either way...FANTASTIC!

James...excellent work!

I look forward to seeing more from you both!

Ok so I got the pencil thing figured out on the test page. Let's see if it works here!
