PTSD changes your brain chemistry and the way you perceive the world and also makes your nervous system more wary. It is what I've come to accept and no amount of coping or therapy really changes the brain back to how it was wired before, although it does help some people if they're willing. I think that's what makes it 'uncurable' and becomes an endless cycle of trying to get better.

I think I really needed to hear that today.

I think your post would even merit it's own thread or something, like the Stress Cup Explanation.

The acceptance of "I will never be the same again" seems vital to me, as well as "I will always have to invest in my mental health going forward and there will always be ups and downs with this"

It doesn't mean "Things will never be okay again"... but it does mean that it will be a different type of okay...
