Hey, I'm just wondering whether any of you have ideas/ advice/ tips for dealing with the PTSD symptom of chronic nausea?

I've had it for so many years and years and years, most of the time I just ignore it, but I don't always manage to.

It's really annoying.

I think it's due to the fact that I always clench my solar plexus as a stress reaction/ as if I'm about to be hit.

I do try and stop doing that ^^ but it's an automatic response nearly 24/7, and also just one of countless PTSD things, so it's hard to focus on not-doing it, enough...

I stress puke so I feel ya. I was given antiemetic by doctor but I only take them if it won't stop/I just need to not puke for a couple of hours cos I have something on. Apart from that it's been normal stress reduction shit that works like relaxation shit and things. I know that's not the most helpful answer ever though. Sorry

That's cool, thanks :)
Yeah, I kinda know I have to do stress reduction... I guess I'm in denial and hoping something else will at least help?

I've just made myself a cup of herbal tea (fennel) which is what you give babies when they have an upset tummy, tho I think that's more for bowel issues?
Going to google herbal teas and nausea, to see what results that yields, cos I was thinking that a cup of hot herbal tea is kinda soothing in and of itself and also = a 5 minute break, which is good re stress reduction?
Could be a good habit... PTSD nausea -> cup of herbal tea?

Edit to add: Google seems to like peppermint and chamomile for pukeyness...
Google also seems to really like ginger herbal teas, tho I don't, but Google likes them so much, I may have to look into this...

Also: Lemon juice is a good remedy for nausea because lemons contain neutralizing acids, which form bicarbonates, compounds that help relieve nausea. The juice from the lemon also stirs up the saliva in your mouth, also helping to relieve nausea.

Do you get "ginger tea" as tea-bags? Or do you cut up bits of ginger and stick them in the hot water?

Edit to add: turmeric and rosemary tea also look like they could be worth a try

I think both, we use ginger tea bags or peppermint water mixed with hot water. But if I was doing it at home I'd probably use cut up ginger cos theoretically it'd have more ginger so work better? I dunno

Yah. I'm going to try ginger tea bags then.

Cos my housemate brings me cut up ginger in hot water whenever I have the flu/ a bad cold and I haaaaate it

No, don't be sorry! :D

I meant generally... When Google was saying "Ginger is good for nausea" I was like "Yeah, good for *creating* nausea!" :p
