The past week and a half have been super busy at work so I've been absolutely exhausted. Last week we had inventory and adding to that stress was my boss's impending vacation this week. As I anticipated the other manager I work with us making me seriously contemplate throwing my store keys at her and just quitting.
A little background, I've been there almost a year and it started off great. Everyone gets along, its tons less stress than what I did before, and the boss is fairly lenient with how we get stuff done and what we do with any down time. The problem stems from the lead assistant. Every time the boss goes on vacation or out of town to work B. goes on a power trip and I get treated like crap. Of course this never happens when A. (the boss) is around aside from some passive aggressive (she didn't do this...) kind of stuff to take the heat off her when she makes fairly big mistakes (generally involving money, most of which would have her fired on the spot, while I constantly get praise for very rarely making mistakes).
This all leads to what happened yesterday. I mixed up my schedule and thought I still had another couple hours before I needed to be there(hard to get a good look while half asleep with a four year old driving you crazy) when she called asking where I was. She didn't just ask. She started off barking it at me as she tends to do and when I said it was a mistake and I'd be there right after I got showered she started yelling at me that I didn't have time for all that. It takes seven minutes to get to work add 15 to shower and dress, that's not a huge thing. Well as she had started arguing and that wasn't goung to speed up the process, I hung up. The door hadn't even shut behind me when this comes out of her mouth, "You ever hang up on me again, I will punch you in the face!" I said arguing on the phone wasn't going to speed up me getting there(at this point not sure how I kept from throwing my keys at her and telling her she could just stay and deal with it). I tried to be rational about the situation, but as usual her view is the only view. In her mind everyone else screws up not her. The worst part is my boss who I love to death told me to just let it go and try to get along. I don't know how hard I've tried to get along with B. I'm just done.
Today I talked ti the manager at the other store I help out at to see about transferring, it didn't seem promising, so I may well be looking for a new job. Not much stresses me out more that the thought of a new job. I'm not good in unfamiliar places or with meeting new people. The fact that where I am now is small and seemed so close at first is probably the only reason I seemed to fit so well at first.
I just don't understand how its ok for her to constantly act like this toward me and I'm expected to just play martyr and deal with it :(
