Challenge the belief that you attract these types of stalkers.
Someone told me that when I was stalked and it hasn't been repeated. Also, law enforcement told me that it was his MO and he was stalking many other (types of) people, so breaking the idea that "I attracted" this was helpful in not making that negative core belief a self-fulfilling prophecy.
What we 'expect to happen' often does because we subconsciously influence it to happen, or make it more likely.
For instance, breaking down why you saw or came into contact with that person to see it in objective terms will help lower anxiety.
If it was a busy intersection, for instance, then the % is just there, and has nothing to do with you.
If it was an event covering a topic that that person is involved with in some way, then maybe that was the attraction.
I'm curious if you could really be influencing the odds or if it's random.
Most often, I do suggest making the % as close to 0 as possible to gain a sense of control or home field advantage, to tip the odds in YOUR own favor.
Whatever the case may be, I am super happy that you are taking steps to improve awareness of the public of the kinds of things that go with trauma and PTSD and to hopefully change our society toward prevention and better treatment options, etc.
If there is any link we can LIKE on FB or something, I'm happy to support the cause. :) Thank you!
