Humour me. I need some comic relief...

I know a lot of us suffer from nightmares, but I thought it might be fun to have a thread for some of those dreams that fall more in the category of 'wacky'. You know the ones where you wake up and just think how the f*ck did my head come up with THAT??!!!

Last night I dreamed that my mum got run over by a donkey..... analyse that!

I like this a lot - I bet most of us could use some comic relief!

Lets see….two nights ago I dreamed that I was on a boat with this girl I used to know, except the boat was actually a stable that could float and there were all these horses wandering around, then me and my friend swung on this random swing set that was also on the boat and my friend got seasick and turned into a horse…..

I'm sure there is some deep meaning somewhere in there but whatever, it was funny as hell.

Well, digger, if you were American I would've put money that the donkey is foreshadowing Novembers elections.
My dreams are always taking place on or near the water. Even one that I was on a plane that was going to plummet into the ocean. And me and my therapist were the only people in the plane.

Amongst all the horrors in my nightmares, weird and wonderful things sneak in.

A year or so ago, I had a very odd dream in which Russell Brand was the Mad Hatter who lived in the Post Office down town, he tried tricking me with a two pence piece, but I saw through the deception and was rewarded with a lot (multiple bowls) of cooked cabbage and two sausages, one of which he stole back.

Before that I had a dream where a starling kept coming from a vent behind my bed that I knew led to the basement and it was greasy but that wasn't in the slightest bit unusual because as I thought to myself in the dream (and repeatedly in the following days whilst awake) - Of course it's greasy, it came from the basement, everyone knows that basement starlings are greasy. This has since been joked about between me and my sisters sporadically over the years.

In the past few nights (can't remember which) my sister was one of the Beatles - I neither know which Beatle she was supposed to be, nor how I knew she was my sister, but she was O_o

Lol! I know what you mean. When I'm not having nightmares my dreams are usually pretty weird. I can't think of a recent one right now, unfortunately. But I'll give the Freudian dream analysis thing (well, my non-professional view of it) a go for fun's sake.

The donkey obviously stands for inferiority as well as for loyalty. Also, your Mom is of course a representation of all female figures in your life. The fact that she got run over by the donkey suggests that you want most of the women you know to be more humble and more appreciative of what the world has to offer them. There, the oracle Snowwhite has spoken :cp:

Edit: just wanted to add that I was really just joking and do not really think your dream represents those things. I was making it up as I went along :P

Well, if it's comic relief we're after, once I dreamed I was riding on a broomstick. Kind of like Harry Potter only I could also go through solid objects. Pretty fun.

My dreams tend to feature water in all its forms, a lot. Like once when I was reading a book on child abuse which was triggering me (this is in waking life) and suddenly it got too much and I shut down and felt nothing at all, and then that night I dreamed I was in a car and the road was flooded so much it had become a lake, so I went back and got a boat, only the boat kept crashing into things. The night before last I dreamed about my family and there was snow all over. There is often snow when I dream about them. My sisters and I were walking (one of them hasn't spoken to any of us in 15 years) and there was a huge avalanche covering the road and they walked through a tunnel in the avalanche and I was scared that it would bury them, but it didn't and they came out the other side ok. With my family I have to "freeze" my emotions and the fear is I will lose them completely if I express them, but in the dream it turned out that didn't happen. Then last night I dreamed I was with a friend going fishing (something we have never done in waking life) and there was some weird thing about how her husband was the boat, not sure about that one, but we had to swim out a really long way into the lake to get to the boat from which we were going to fish and there were a lot of dead fish lying around in the water. With that particular friend I don't feel like I have to freeze my emotions, she's one of the few. Not sure what the dead fish are about though.

Funny I was still thinking about that when I went into the forum!

I once dreamed that I was on a skydive plane, but the insides of the plane were actually converted into a living room. I was just having a nice cup of tea when an eagle flew by the door and asked me if he could join.

That's one of the coolest dreams I ever had. But I have had a load of seriously whacky dreams, and I write them up very often as well. I'll dig around in my dream diary to see if I can find some good ones :)

Fun topic. An odd one I had was that I was doing everything backwards... and for one part of it I was at a ski resort in Reno or Tahoe (never been either place) and was skiing but I was going up the hill... while everyone else was going down and all sorts of chaos ensued trying to miss being hit by people careening down the slope and visa versa. Analyze that? Heh.
