Analyzing Dreams and Uncovering the Subconscious Mind : Analyzing Dreams and Uncovering the Subconsc

Hi Grandma Herc, I love those dreams too. They can mean a couple of things. One is that you are in need of intimacy (not sex) and the earning to belong to someone or something.

The other way to look at the dream is that he is a part of your personality that you love and find comfort in. Eyes are a window to the soul so it is my understanding that your soul is beautiful and has the ability to make others feel warm and fuzzy.

The car breaking down would represent your body or journey in life and you start to walk, but instead of giving up you decide to find something inside yourself to keep going forward.

I know it is hard for woman to understand how a man in our dream can be a characteristic of our own personality but if everyone looks it up in google they will find that every man and every woman poses characteristics of the opposite sex.

Nice dream, one to hold on to.

Well Continued the dream during my afternoon nap. Only got bits and peices of this one but I am very aware that there are parts I've forgotten

Mom and I were invited to a party, Mom went but I could not. See he had just told me while professing his love for me that he was married and was unable to continue our love and said good bye.

Of course, I am completely devestated. Then I find that I am walking down a fancy, elegant hallway in a posh hotel and I see a woman walking toward me. I know it is his wife. How I know ????? She enters an elevator I want to go in so I just keep walking.

I run into my love and he cries vowing we will be together "someday" and then disappears. I am standing in front of the elevator when the doors open ,but it is a jail cell with bars and everything and I go in. The door shuts behind me. Terrified I begin to cry only to discover my wrists in handcuffs attached to the bed in the cell.

At the other end of the bed is my love in the same position but he finds a way and comes to me, embraces me and we are wrapped together with the feeling it will last forever.

I ask him why we are there together in the cell and he says that I, meaning ME, killed his wife and then I wake up.

But those eyes, Tammy, they are the most incredible eyes I've ever seen----and the love and security I feel is so strong and safe.

Hi Grama Herc, I will try to get to this dream tomorrow. In the meantime it would be nice if Mary would like to take a shot at it. She seems to be doing good so far.

Here's a dream for ya. I cn't remember all of it but this part stands out and won't go away.

I'm on a train or something long like that. There are these two guys after me for some reason. I find these blades all different types for each guy. I cut ones throat with a short razor sharp blade. I stab the other one with a blade that resembles a putty knife. then I continue to run from them cause no matter how much they bleed, they just won't die! That's all I can remember.

I woke up this morning and I told my dad "I hate it when you cut 'em and they just won't die!" He said "what?"

Hi Grama Herc,

This man is a characteristic of your personality. Some times you are able to love yourself and sometimes you are unable to.

When your in a hallway it represents going from one room to another. Sort of like a place of transition in the journey your taking right now. Hotels generally represent a temporary state of mind.

So while your trying to get from one place to the other you have a temporary lapse in thinking.

Then you see this woman (who is also part of your personality) She gets on an elevator which would be another state of transition (I wonder if she is going up our down?).

After going back and forth in your mind trying to decide weather you love yourself or not you end up going into a transition of locking yourself down (jail) (disassociation).

When you see this man who is one of your personalities (He would be called your animus) you decide to kill his wife (which means your killing that personality to make room for a new way of thinking) Maybe she is the part of you that does the dissociation and ridding yourself of her (that personality) is a good thing.

At the ending of your dream you seem to want to stay in that state of "lock down" (dissociation). I would try to come out of that as soon as possible for your healing purposes.

Definition of Personality - can be defined as a dynamic and organized SET of characteristics possessed by a person that uniquely influences his or her motivations, and behaviors in various situations

This dream seems pretty complex so I hope I explained it OK.

Hi Morgan, your dream looks like a trauma dream. That's why these men are chasing you. The throat would represent a way to vocalize your thoughts.

Slitting the man's throat would represent an attempt to face your trauma by talking about it. Also you are attempting to kill your fear of this trauma and gain the ablility to discuss the trauma/s (There are two men so I assume you've had more than one trauma?).

I'm not sure why you chose those specific knifes for each person. That would have to do with the trauma situation I would think?

This is a start for healing because a lot of people don't face their attacker and try to kill the fear in their dreams until they reach a good stand point in their healing.

When you state "no matter how much they bleed they just won't die" My thoughts on this is that blood generally represents "your life" and you are refusing to give up even though you continue to run from your fears.

Keep up the good work!

In my deep and intense dream, I did not decide to kill the wife. All of a sudden I was in jail with the man for killing her. No dream sequence of the actual act. As far as the elevator goes, seems to me it was going up.

This is amazing and helping me so very much. The way it is going along with my memory recall is a little creepy don't ya think?

Hi Grama Herc
It's really not creepy because we dream about things that are happening in our lives only in symbols. But I know what you mean when some one points things out that we didn't see on our own. It used to creep me out, but now it amazes me.

Take care
Tammy

I just want to say that I've been trying to write my traumas in my diary for weeks now and have been finding it difficult to say the least.

Hi Morgan, I'm not sure what your trying to convey.

Is the interpretation wrong? If it is difficult to write about the trauma, but you are in fact doing it, then the dream is stating you are attempting to vocalize it and face it even though the fear is still there?

If this interpretation doesn't resonate with you I can think on it some more and see if something else comes to mind.

Just let me know.

Tammy

Sorry for the delay in posting, I was out of town all weekend. I would like to jump in on GrammaHercs dream. It seems to me that this man could represent some sort of destination of peace and tranquility and the woman is perhaps what is standing between you and peace. Death is very final in our waking life and I think it represents something ending permanently in dreams. I see a jail cell as a representation of a inner part of your being. Perhaps, that is your place of tranquility or where you want it most.

I am curious to see if you felt any kind of remorse over the woman's death or if you felt more free to act on your feelings. It probably reflects your feelings about what you are trying to let go or work past, but on the subconscious level.

Hi Mary, I would like to get some insight from you on this dream. It was a difficult one and I like to see other points of view to get more experience.

If she got rid of the woman so she can act more freely on her feelings what are your thoughts on the man and her being handcuffed? You stated that being in jail could represent her place of tranquility but the handcuffs seems to contradict that by confining her to two things, which would be the bed and the man.

There are no right or wrong answers for us, only Grama Herc can say for sure what it means, and I think the more we discuss the meaning and how we got to the conclusion the better we can all understand it.

Thanks
Tammy
