Anxiety At Work

I'm really struggling with little anxieties at work that I know are stupid, but I'm finding it hard to work through them.

I work in IT, so thankfully, I don't have to use the phone too often, but when that phone rings, I get incredibly panicky and don't know what to do.

It's also really silly things like being afraid to go over to the printer and stand there in front of colleagues, or going to the kitchen to fill my water bottle.

I have such a fear of being watched, and I constantly feel like I'm going to make a fool of myself.

Hi. I can understand this. I'm not like that now but I remember in my first full time job being just like that. I would leave the room to avoid answering the phone because I thought everyone would be listening to me and analysing. I also had trouble crossing the room to use the fax machine. My legs felt like they were going to give way.

I think my problem was extreme shyness, low self esteem etc. I didnt do anything to overcome this. It just gradually went away. I still have serious self esteem issues but most of my shyness and panic has gone. Just remember you are as good as the next person. Try not to worry about what other people are thinking. Good luck.
