Anyone else having 9/11 flashbacks from the news today?

That 24-story apartment building in London burning plus the shooting at the Congressional baseball practice have me feeling like when 9/11 happened.

Yes, building fires take me back to that day. I try not to watch those stories but sometimes it's hard to avoid.

Yup. Although I'll admit that Congress went out of my mind as soon as I saw news from London. I watched a short video of the fire. I tried not to watch, but I failed at that. I cried, some, at the video and just in general.

I'm not sure how they're managing such a media blackout (in London, not Washington). It is frustrating to me, because I want to know, but at the same time it is better for it not to be on the news and have people staring at it all day on tv, waiting for news as it goes slowly, one by one, minute to minute.

I don't watch the news (even local news) due to this. It hits way too many triggers. So, I am resolved at not watching any of it. I read my news. And usually that means I'm more out of touch then I should be but it allows me to pick and choose what I expose myself to and I can stop reading if it's hitting a trigger. It's better, in my opinion (if you read it more often then me so your not out of touch like myself) as you don't get hyped up sensationalized garbarge which is the national news (at least in the US), and it's much easier to drill down to facts when it's not sensationalized. It's a bit harder as it takes a few searches to find the truth behind a news story rather then just watching something on tv but I'd take it over having flashbacks due to what I just saw and/or heard, even when accidental, on the tv.

Hehe! Thank you! I am usually good about seeing that but missed it this time. I don't watch the news (as I said) and there is UK and Russia issues currently so had no idea the London thing was old. And I didn't even think that this is March, not close to Sept.
