not for migraine. My daughter is very sick. She has depression, severe depression, already posted a thread about it somewhere else.
I apologise, that was my misunderstanding.

I always wonder why anyone would prescribe something that is so so dangerous in overdose to someone who is severely depressed. It's good to hear that you have them safely locked away, since that was my major concern.

I really hope that someone can help your daughter. Apart from her anguish, you must be suffering too. It would be great for you both to find something (meds or therapy, or combination), that helps her.

Anna,
I believe it has certain potential benefits over SSRI's when it comes to insomnia for example. It slows the mind down more. SSRI's can actually increase agitation in some cases.

They tried to change me over to it but for me I hated it. The sedative effects freaked the life out of me. And in the end I slept less not more. I think that links to hypervigilence.

They were trying to get me off citalopram. From what I know - little - there can be certain reasons to recommend it over the newer style depression meds. It also helps specific physical conditions as well such as IBS and Migraines and is still commonly prescribed for them.

He may think your daughter would be best served by something extra calming. But if she reacts badly enough to the weight gain then that might offset the benefit so it is best to discuss that with them.

I hope it works and she feels better soon.

Whoa. Weight gain is bad. In the space of 10 days 3kgs gain in weight. For a teenager that is not nice, especially as they are so conscious about their weight.

Meds have been changed to Sulpiride. Hope it helps.

I am on it and have been since my attempt at waiting tables in Northern Utah this late Spring. When I returned home the first thing I did the very next day was to take the light rail into downtown Phoenix and go to a walk in clinic. They were unable to help me due to the "nature of my issues" but they did tell me where I could find sliding scale fee help and my initial visit to see a counselor was free. I was put on this med as my mother has taken it for years and it has worked for her. The nurse who wrote out my scrip told me it might be best to try something that has worked for my blood relatives.

I find that this med really quiets down my overactive mind and it does squash the anxiety. These are two very desirable effects in my case. The price tag to this is grogginess that lasts for up to an hour when I get up and also emotional flatness - right now I'm fine with that but I don't know that I want emotional flatness for the rest of my life.

I am on 75 MG so I seem to be on a higher dose than others here.
