I feel passion again

Lauren! You have no idea how much YOU are helping ME! To know that I am helping you to rediscover something that you haven't felt in years is amazing to me.

I lost my passion years ago and haven't been able to get it back:(. So, to hear that you've found yours again and I helped with that.... I can't tell you what that means to me. I wish my therapist was still in the office because I'd call him right now but he's left for the day. It will have to wait til tomorrow. I'm so excited for you Lauren. This is huge! For both of us I think:D.

Hugs. Heather

I'm bringing my portraits to my T tomorrow. Thanks to you I am kicking around marketing drawing pets for people. Could go around to doggie daycares, vet offices, sportsman stores, dog shows, horse barns etc. It also got me thinking.... I may go back to school to become a vet tech (I don't need to make much money anymore). I love animals and would really enjoy it. Haha...I'm 51 and may go back to school for a minimum wage job LOL! Look what you have done!!!!!!

You have that EYE, but hope you know that? I'm interested- how much you've done this before, and to what extent? I'd hate to start raving and have you day you've already done 3 exhibits and specilize in charcoal. Lauren- if you have not- seriously-DO you know you have that THING? I honestly wish to know.

You're more than 'good', my dear- to the point where I do not wish to sound foolish since it feels like I'm speaking to a professional?

I'm crying Anni....seriously.....I am just floored at what you said. Even went in a read it to my husband.

I haven't drawn in decades other than to doodle. This portrait and the two posted earlier are my first attempts at drawing people so you can see why I am crying.....I used to draw still-lifes and animals when I was in high school a little bit. I painted a few pictures in my twenties and that's about it. I did do one charcoal when I was about 11 yrs old that a friend of my dad's wanted to buy for $500, but Dad would sell it. I never knew about it until about 20 years ago. Dad framed it and has it on the wall at his place.

My Dad majored in architecture and minored in art. He was always working with some medium (oil, charcoal, clay. metal sculptures) and he would sometimes teach me and let me try to create something. My Dad is quite good, but my mom couldn't stand the mess he made so he destroyed almost all of his work and quit for years. He did get back into it (mostly photography) years later and has sold some of his work.

So, I do believe I have raw talent inherited from him ;o) My mom was a concert percussionist in the symphony. My brother got her musical talent :)

Thank you sooooo much Annie (and everyone). You are really encouraging me to pursue this and see if I can't take it somewhere. My therapist has been suggesting it too ;o)!!!
WOW.........BIG BREATH!

I've always written poetry and prose....with breaks cause it comes out dark most of the time. Still pluggin away thought, cause it is an outlet. I used to read my poetry at open mic night, but then I was cast into all the Vietnam vets. It was obvious.
Now, I'm drawing and painting acrylics. My husband says it's really good. I do our cows, Scottish Highlanders, landscapes and I did some really strange but good Picasso like stuff of a woman's open mouth with all kinds of weird stuff going on.
Huh...........no wonder.

Iam, thanks for sharing, wow you certainly have artistic talent, those sketches are great. I agree that you should consider taking some life drawing classes and enrich your artistic talent.

It's been a few years since I've done anything really artistic, you've got me thinking about doing some fine art again. :) Here's some of my old work, ebony pencil on white paper, b&w conte pencils on blue paper, and watercolor.
