(Spoiler Alert - Flight)

Though a well-crafted film featuring fine performances, I caution all here to avoid 'Flight'. A very strong and incredibly vivid portrayal of alcohol and substance abuse throughout the film prompted me to stagger out of the theater for memories of my father. I returned to the show hoping (if only) for some narrative closure, whereas a week later my older sister confirmed our joint sensitivity to what was seen on-screen. Utterly toxic stuff if your father or male guardian so-imbibed.

The Hobbit (part 1) was well done and I don't think Tolkien would have minded the changes made either...

Saw The Hobbit yesterday, liked it, noticed the changes, got over it. Saw the 3D version and actually responded a few times to the effects - slightly embarrassing. :)

Les Miserables is outstanding! Different type of production on film. I am a history fanatic and was completely captured.

Saw another making-of of 'Life of Pi' today; a whale is rising from the ocean into the air, sort of jumping... So beautifully made! I soo want to see this film and I'd love to watch it together and have a date next week and get to choose the movie. I don't know if crying (I was so touched even from that scene on my small tv screen) on a first date is a good thing to do LOL. Maybe 'Hobbit' would be better, but I don't like movie makers changing things...
