Gday all
I deployed as a grunt to afghanistan 2010 (mtf-1) with 6RAR, for those not in the know, it was pretty messed up - the stuff that happens - i was able to deal with at the time by completely shutting off emotion, my section labelled me as a cold prick and didnt really want anything to do with me when not on patrol. It was the only way I could keep it together. Got home, crawled into a bottle until it didnt help me anymore. I got diagnosed around april 2011 with ptsd and have been trying to work out which way is up ever since. I am now awaiting med discharge because of mental and physical problems.
Happy to talk to anyone that wants advice with DVA, taken it upon myself to learn all their ins and outs, to hopefully lessen their blows when it comes to it.
