You did a great job of this. I enjoyed reading it too. I realised that when I put in the PTSD is Curable thingy, it might sound like I was saying it is curable. I wasnt, I was actually just quoting the thread Anthony put up that is called "PTSD is Curable". I was being lazy and not putting in the apostrophe thingies.

I dont ever expect a cure for myself, but I would like to manage it well and I think that is happening already with the help of the wonderful info here and even just knowing I am not alone.

Yeah I agree cynthiatoo. Thanks. Starting treatment is hard and very up and down, but I am noticing a change in my thinking. And I definitely believe the symptoms will lessen with time and I'll learn to manage this. That's exactly why I'm there. I still have my hard moments (and they usually seem to come right out of the blue actually). But I suppose that's just everything coming to the surface to be processed and worked through. When I mentioned to my T that I was remembering things that I hadn't 'forgotten' as such, but that I hadn't thought about it in a long time she explained that your brain will allow these things to come to the surface as it thinks - 'ok, I'm now in a state where I can deal with this and process it, so I'm gonna let it come to the surface'. Which is happening to me alllll the time and very randonmly. Might be making dinner and all of a sudden I think 'oh yeah, that happened too'. It's extremely random. But I guess I have to 'remember it' to process my feelings about it.
