Hello Everyone,

Radio silence for the past few weeks, been at an in patient treatment center since the beginning of August and we've had limited access to the interwebs. I'll be out in a week and should be back on the forums, at least in a limited capacity (more to follow).

My findings came back from the PEB and were rated by the VA, 70%/100% DOD/VA. I requested a formal board because the VA won't call my PTSD, PTSD - they instead are calling it "military combat stress reaction", and for some reason the PEB used that as their diagnosis for my board findings (DOD has called it PTSD from the start). Since they're in the same category for rating purposes it shouldn't be an issue to get changed, and no re-rating by the VA will be required.

Additionally, my lawyer suggested that I have them reconsider my migraines/TBI as unfitting to act as a buffer for when I get reevaluated down the line for TDRL --> PDRL purposes. That made sense to me as well, especially since the VA rated them each at their max.

The new results are on my PEBLO's desk, I'm merely waiting for him to deliver them (Navy's PEB had a conference all week, Marine PEBLOs were required to attend).

Treatment, in short, has been amazing. I hope to write more on it in the future to help encourage any of you who have decided against it, but as far as this post goes: it has changed my life, and saved my marriage.

It has given me hope. Hope that I can leave here, and live a life worth living. A life that doesn't bring those around me down all the time. A life wherein I don't want to kill myself. A life, you got it, where I can begin to make a difference in the lives of others.

Thank you, everyone, for the past and continued support.

I love you all, and will be back with you soon!

Be,

I never quite understood it, but I travelled with diagnoses like Anxiety, MDD for six months before they just said PTSD. A few months later the original diagnoses came back on my files. Now, it's all three. Go figure?

Like you, my experience with VA has always been great. Kind of frustrating doing CPTs with interns, but the Docs stay very close and engaged, and we have a Vet running our WRAP Group. All are very good, committed.

Steve
