It's hard to recommend where to start! I've tried so many different therapies myself, some mainstream, some a bit more off the beaten path. If I had to make a recommendation on where to start I'd say to find a therapist who is trauma focused/trauma specialized. Many will list "PTSD/trauma" as something they treat even if it's not a specialty of theirs. I recommend finding someone who uses CBT and also has training in trauma processing whether it be via EMDR or exposure therapy or another means. The truth is that oftentimes we need to gain skills from many different types of therapies. It is nearly impossible to know the best place to start which is why it's adviseable to start with more mainstream/well known trauma therapies. If they don't work or you need additional skills then I'd advise branching out into other therapies.
