News Beware - this is freaky

I heard about this a while ago. That the mother keeps the DNA and 'helper cells' of children (both that came to term and who didn't) within her. I was reading that the 'helper cells' would actually go around and try to repair the body.

I tried to just reframe the whole thing as my children being a part of me.
The whole thing about the DNA of past sexual partners though?
I'd have a weak ass army hanging out in my head.

I'm being silly -in part- because the article is conflating medical terminology with everyday usage, and coming up with bizarre conclusions.

Just one (of dozens)of wild assumptions they make

'Spontaenous Abortion'? Isn't a woman getting an abortion on a whim, much less then "forgetting" about it. "Therefore" :wtf: making it an unlikely cause for 63% of women to have experienced. It's the medical term for every natural miscarriage & chemical pregnancy (been awhile since school, but if I'm remembering correctly most women having unprotected sex are conceiving 5-6 times a year. Granted, some do all 13 cycles, some not at all, but the majority? Every other month like clockwork. But whether the DNA zippers wrong, or lethal combinations are made, the body rejects or destroys the fertilized egg -usually- before it can implant, so the only way to know? Is to use tests they'd never sell, that are sensitive enough to detect the chemicals present starting day 1. Hence "chemical pregnancy". Not even a day late on your period in most of these cases.).

Beyond how incredibly common chemical pregnancies, and to a lesser extent miscarriages are? We don't fully understand how women can have completely foreign DNA in their systems (babies) without the immune system attacking it, like any other invader. Organ transplants fail / are rejected even when there is an exact match.

Makes sense that copies of recombinant & source DNA are sent to the lymphatic system in the first moments of conception, and then stored in various "Do Not Destroy" files/ bulletin boards/ blueprint libraries (where we store the blueprints for manufacturing antibodies to every pathogen we've ever been exposed to / aka how immunity works), to prevent the whole death-of-the-species-thing.

That part of that system could be neurological, and not entirely lymphatic & skeletal? Is just really f*cking cool.

It also presents the possibility that we might could could guarantee organ donations (AND without people having to be on immune suppressing drugs the rest of their lives  !!!), maybe even unmatched blood transfusions, or solve for RH NEG problems... if we could deliberately introduce donor DNA INTO that system, to catalogue as "Baby temporarily on board. Do not seek & destroy."

Every. Single. One. Of the scientists 4 major theories regarding how the micro-chimera is happening? Has potentially wicked awesome super cool shit like that attached to it.

So the article just made me snort.

I know!!! Instead of correctly interpreting the science? Let's make women even less inclined to swallow! :cautious: :shifty:

Why why why did I take the title of this thread as an invitation along the lines of:
"Hey, wanna have a thousand more nightmares?"
"YES, of course I do!" (shudder)

I'm so sorry, @ShikibuZ. I feel the same way. I regret even posting this. I should have kept it to myself. Or, I should have ignored it. I don't know. It just sucks. I wish I'd never seen it. But no putting the toothpaste back in the tube now :-(
