Bored. What Do You Do For A Hobby?

I fly, grow fruit and veg, make homebrew, study Hermetic literature and debate theological matters with The Wife. Sometimes I go shooting with friends.

I have a fiddle I need to learn to play and I've been meaning to get into clockmaking but it's very expensive.

At the moment I also play rather a lot of Skyrim, too.

Cheaper, yes, at least if you only buy the basic game and one controller. But if you buy the many different iterations plus the additional instruments I could see it easily adding up to an inexpensive quality guitar, which if you're sharp you can find for under $150.

But better? As someone who plays and enjoys both, I beg to differ. They are both a lot of fun. But I've played guitar for 20 years (off and on) and I plan to play for another 20. I played Guitar Hero for a year or two before it got old. I hardly ever break it out any more.

Of course it's still up to you. I'm just sayin'. :)

I knit for a hobby. At first it was difficult and frustrating but once I got the hang of it things changed. Now it actually relaxes me and makes me focus on the yarn in my hands not my problems. Plus you can make some really cool stuff.

reading, coloring (sounds lame i know, but i buy really intricate coloring books like mandalas and stuff and it keeps me preoccupied and tires me out. Its easier than drawing), exercising, making friendship bracelets, picking television series and watching them in their entirety, horseback riding (i take a horsemanship class at my college its great exercise and therapeutic for me), and cooking!

I color too. Even just doodling nothing in particular with a crayon can be so relaxing. One of my friends worked a high stress customer service phone line job and used to color while she worked and was encouraged by her boss to keep doing it. It's a great thing to do for anybody.
