Domestic violence survivors commonly suffer repeated blows to the head and strangulation, trauma that has lasting effects that should be widely recognized by advocates, health care providers, law enforcement and others who are in a position to help, according to the authors of a new study.

Finally... somebody sees that this type of injury - being punched in the head - multiple times and strangled does actually injure the brain. It's not just a few bruises that disappear eventually. It's not just a vulnerable woman with bruises and cuts that heal. It's not just emotional harm that is done.

Why is it so easily accepted that men can receive brain injuries from sports and other professions/vocations but the victims of family violence have gone unnoticed? That's surely a societal issue right there!
