So today I'm awakened early by my phone going off but don't know the number and then another number I don't recognize minutes apart. After the second one it woke me. Of course it's always on the days when I actually manage to fall asleep someone HAS to bother me early. The first voicemail was my work's administrator for my leave of absence, telling me that my loa for my PTSD related in part to my sister's death last year stating it was denied because it was technically "bereavement" which should be handled by my company's HR. The second voicemail was my doctor's billing saying that my insurance was demanding a refund from my doctor of nearly $500 that I wasn't covered during the time I needed to actually use it because I wasn't at work to get my premiums paid they stopped my insurance BUT I could work out payments out of pocket. HOWEVER, then a few hours later I get a text from my doctor saying she can't see me anymore. So nice strategy work, he has a doctor defending him, take away his doctor. And nice doctor! If you have ever read any of my other posts as if recent you would know that now I am in a pretty much nonstop, nontrust, semi-suicidal state! Thank you for starting Phase 1 of me losing everything doc...

Hi Ducky77 ~ I am new here; just joined when I saw your post after reading in my email. Sometimes when you think you are losing it is when you are really finding it. I've been living with ptsd for most of my life and the anxiety/panic attacks in the beginning were horrendous. I am wondering if you know about CBD oil. It is legal in all states I believe. I've been a guinea pig for so much pharma over the years that I believe this may be a good thing and the doctor actually did you a favor. CBD oil is sold in health pharmacies and just a couple of sprays calms you within minutes, sometimes less than a minute. If you are in a legal medical state, the full cannabis oil stops flashbacks, anxiety, depression, you name it. And with ZERO side effects. Take heart. I've also been through hell and back and there really is life after trauma. Good life. I am making music and writing and SO grateful I made it through the pills that made me suicidal. You can do this too. <3

Awesome advice PhoenixRizn! I actually do luckily live in Oregon so that is a viable option. I'll have to look into what I can get without a card for now waiting on that but I do have a qualifying disability with my PTSD, I think all the card does is make it cheaper around here honestly so we'll see. Where there's a will there's a way, just scary this plane of reality is from time to time. Thank you for responding again!

Oh, that is horrific, why would the doctor not wait to make an out of pocket payment arrangement? Most doctors are not poor people, or are they so afraid they get in trouble for not following certain guidelines? One would think an out of pocket arrangement could have worked.....

So sorry for what happened to you, when I was trusting people who thought they would help they also turned out to be really bad people but later on received the treatment a victim should receive.

Don't give up, there really are some good doctors out there...

Thank you, hopefully this all works out for the better. She always seemed more concerned about "billing issues" than my issues! Although I still owe her a lot, she did ultimately figure out after all my life why I am the way I am. However she never truly gave me any helpful tools, guidance, or direction. And now I'm just going to have to deal with this on my own, well at least through here! Thanks again!

I really am very sorry to hear about the loss of your sister.

You said you're feeling semi-suicidal. What's the main reason - losing your sister or the $500 you owe (or something else)? If the former, then bereavement counselling from a charitable organisation may help you. If the latter, then could you consider crowd-funding?

Sorry - just re-read the bit about your doctor saying they can't see you any more. What real reason did they give? How easy is it to find a new doctor? What kind of doctor are they? Sorry for all the questions.

Ugh, so sorry you are going through this!

Can you apply for Medicaid or perhaps retroactive COBRA coverage?

Are there any community mental health centers in your area that treat uninsured people?

You may have other options to get help. It doesn't really change how shitty this is though.

Outstanding!!! You are on your way to amazing cure.
I'm glad medical marijuana has helped you, but I'd be careful about declaring that anything is a sure cure for PTSD for someone else. It is good though to keep in mind that there are lots of options to treat PTSD, and having a couple of options totally screwing up and bailing doesn't mean someone is without any help or options to try.

Unfortunately I can't get state offered healthcare because it is offered through my employer and technically I'm still employed there even though I have an intermittent loa right now. The problem is if I don't work enough they don't take my $99 out of my check. Basically after looking over the bill details from my doctor my insurance works when I don't need it but works when I don't. During my time of feeling semi suicidal I had multiple issues facing me see my other posts if we to know more about that. I'm doing better everyone, not best but better it's all we can do everyday. And as far as medical marijuana goes I prefer a natural approach, I grew up with a mom that had systemic lupus, fibromyalgia, diabetes, and died at 52 from congestive heart failure with diabetes as a contributing factor so I personally don't even drink alcohol or take drugs. I don't believe in the false hope doctors who are "practicing" medicine give you with a bunch of substances that don't really help. Well it helps line peeps pockets with money I feel ultimately it just burns out your liver, kidneys, and other body parts. Thank you everyone for responding! Keep swinging...
