My mood has changed to happy!!!

Tomorrow morning we are going to Cornwall (in UK), I guess a 3 hour drive, to visit the Eden Project (an old clay pit has been transformed into an amazing garden with Biomes housing a mini jungle/ rainforest and a mediterranean climate).
It was my darling hubby's suggestion last weekend. I was soooo delighted, agreed straight away and booked an overnight stay.

It's been a good week already, looking forward to our trip.

Ok... maybe I am being a bit dramatic here.... we here are like the "clay pit" and are going through our own transformation into something beautiful..... maybe this is corny - I dont know - it was just my first thought when I read your post R-Girl ! Have a wonderful time..... !

I go with the analogy idea, corny's alright and lucky for us the weather forecast was wrong, we didn't get rain we got warm sunshine.

It was fab!! We couldn't believe how much of a transformation there had been in the 7 years since our last visit. It's also a haven for birdlife and their songs rang out loud and clear. We got there at 9.30am, opening time, this morning and spent an easy 3 hours wondering around. Hubby remarked how relaxing it was (without prompting ) so we're thinking of going back again later in the year.

We were both impressed that they actively encourage people with disabilities, drug and alcohol problems and homeless to visit. Their testimonies were very moving: "the best day of my life", "I felt I was part of something", "I enjoyed being here" .

Going back to the birds, one clever blackbird in particular was hanging out in the bakery. We were sitting enjoying a fairtrade coffee, mmmmm, and a bun and this bird had us and the family sitting alongside well and truly entertained. It had learnt to watch and when the guy serving turned his back, he pecked at the loaves of bread then flew up to perch, out of reach, before waiting til the coast was clear for another go. What added to the fun was that he had an audience of blackbirds outside watching him!!

Happy days.
