Celexa Draining All Of Your Energy?

I was recently put on Celexa and I've noticed that I have been drained of all of my energy to the point where I can hardly roll out of bed in the mornings. Does anyone else experience this? Is it possible this is happening because my body is still getting used to it?

I have been on Celexa for a few years. I remember being tired at first but as my body got used to it, I mostly have that tired feeling when I have some uncontrolled anxiety. The trick for me is to find the anxiety, deal with it and try to make myself keep moving forward. Medications like these seem to effect everyone very differently - IMHO, I'd say talk to your doc about it.

Ok thank you for your input. I'm aware everyone reacts differently but I was curious to see if I was the only one. Once again, thank you

I was really tired at first but after the first couple of days, my body adjusted enough that I have my energy to do things. I expect the same response when i up it in a couple of days, but expect that once it is in, I'll adjust again. Hopefully! Having my pets (dogs and cats) helps because they need to go out etc. which keeps me moving whether I want to or not.

I started on this 5 days ago now and am suffering the same as you describe, i have no energy at all feel totally exhausted and can't stop yawning amongst other things. Its strange put on it cause was not leaving house much cause anxiety and fear and now its sent me other way into depression whereby not doing things cause my body just feels so tired that its hard moving, i find myself sat staring into space bit zombie like.

How long have you been on it? some people say it eases for others it seems celexa causes constant problems with energy, guess time will tell if it ease off for us. Here is hoping it settles soon.

I've been on Celexa for about 5 days as well. It's funny you mention the yawning Sazza. I haven't stopped either. I thought I was just overly tired but maybe it's due to this as well? Hope everyone that's in my situation adjusts and doesn't have to feel like a zombie

I believe yawning is a common side effect, it's getting a bit annoying now. Are you taking your of morning or night? Are you sleeping ok despite being tired it isn't really helping with the sleep. Just hoping dong put weight on as keep hearing bout weight gain. Hopefully the tiredness will ease Soon if not I be looking to try something else.

Have you had any change in your mood? I was put on them for anxiety but sent me other way. Sorry all questions interested as you started similar time to me.

I am to take it before bedtime and I sleep no different than I used to which isn't great but isn't terrible either. As far as my mood is concerned I don't feel that different. If it actually is doing anything it's not a noticeable difference. I'm gonna give it time before I come to any conclusions whether or not it's working. I am taking it for my depression and Klonopin for my anxiety but only supposed to take it when I NEED it which knock on wood, hasn't happened yet.

Mine is taken an hour before bed. It still takes me over an hour and sometimes two to get to sleep, but once there I'm good. Thoughts and memories keep me awake but I don't get worked up by them like I was before.

Noices I hear as I am falling asleep don't startle me like they used to either.

I am not remembering my dreams good or bad and am not sleeping up to 11 hours which is what I was doing before starting it. The anxiety is not as consuming and I have no increase in depression that I've noticed.

We'll see whay happens when it goes up to 20 in a couple of nights. I'm actually delaying the start by a day because I'm afraid I won't get up for my T appointment the day after starting the 20.
