"... so also Christ was offered once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him."
Hebrews 9:28 NLT

I've been reading the Psalms, and it is so good to see God's anointed (King David) going through all the kinds of things that we who have PTSD go through. It just might be that he had it too? After all, he was a warrior. One of the greatest who ever lived. He had his fears, his down times and his euphoric times too. He trusted in God every step of the way, he says so in many of his Psalms. (Psalm simply means a song sung to a stringed instrument). Anyway, here is a Psalm that I think says it all for me, in terms of David's relationship with our God:

Psalm 13 New Living Translation (NLT)
For the choir director: A psalm of David.
1 O Lord, how long will you forget me? Forever?
How long will you look the other way?
2 How long must I struggle with anguish in my soul,
with sorrow in my heart every day?
How long will my enemy have the upper hand?

3 Turn and answer me, O Lord my God!
Restore the sparkle to my eyes, or I will die.
4 Don’t let my enemies gloat, saying, “We have defeated him!”
Don’t let them rejoice at my downfall.

5 But I trust in your unfailing love.
I will rejoice because you have rescued me.
6 I will sing to the Lord
because he is good to me.

Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
Ephesians 3:17-19 NLT

Some Quotes That Relate to each other:

Psalm 8:6 New Living Translation (NLT)
6 You gave them charge of everything you made,
putting all things under their authority—

And:

Hebrews 2:8 New Living Translation (NLT)
8 You gave them authority over all things.”
Now when it says “all things,” it means nothing is left out. But we have not yet seen all things put under their authority.

And then there is:

Psalm 16:10 New Living Translation (NLT)
10 For you will not leave my soul among the dead
or allow your holy one to rot in the grave.

And then:

Mark 16:6-7 New Living Translation (NLT)
6 but the angel said, “Don’t be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead! Look, this is where they laid his body. 7 Now go and tell his disciples, including Peter, that Jesus is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there, just as he told you before he died.”

And:

Psalm 22
For the choir director: A psalm of David, to be sung to the tune “Doe of the Dawn.”
1 My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?
Why are you so far away when I groan for help?

And then:

Matthew 27:46 New Living Translation (NLT)
46 At about three o’clock, Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” which means “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?”

There are many more of these kinds of related verses between the Old and New Testaments. I shall share more maybe tomorrow.... Keep in mind that the Books of the Old Testament were written some 1500 - 400 years before the time of Christ.

[ The Narrow Gate ] “You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.
Matthew 7:13-14 NLT

Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.
Colossians 3:13 NLT

James 1:13 New Living Translation (NLT)
13 And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say, “God is tempting me.” God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else.

[ Psalm 19 ] [ For the choir director: A psalm of David. ] The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known.
Psalm 19:1-2 NLT
