1 Corinthians 13:4
"Love is patient and is kind; love doesn't envy. Love doesn't brag, is not proud, 5 doesn't behave itself inappropriately, doesn't seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; 6 doesn't rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never fails."

I find that my being loving in my life is the most essential thing, both for God and other people. Sometimes it is hard to love. People and institutions are often not as lovable as we would like them to be! Human nature is so often to "watch out for number one" and I find myself as guilty of that as anyone else is! To be loving, we need to give of ourselves sometimes more than is comfortable. I am especially finding that to be true in my new job. I am a Senior Companion to a man who has Dementia. Whereas my body and muscles and bones are breaking down, this poor man's BRAIN is doing so, and he has trouble finishing sentences and remembering names. He gets confused easily. I have to watch out that he does not wander off and get lost if I go to the ladies room! I start my official training for the job tomorrow, so hopefully there will be some suggestions for me on how to be of better help to him. He is a gentle man, sweet, and quiet. He used to make violins for a living when he worked! So I bet he is a very patient man.
Anyway, I could use all of your prayers for him and for me. His name is Norman.
