I normally do my Christmas shopping over the next month or two as I hate going to the shops just prior to Christmas amongst all the chaos.

This year I haven't even thought about Christmas yet except for tonight. Prior to meeting Anthony, Christmas shopping was always 99% done by the end of September.

Have you started thinking about it for this year?

I know what I want this year and it's one present..... a holiday away from home and not with any family or friends or commitments..... just chill out time. (Anthony read here please)

What do you want for Christmas this year or what are your plans? Are you an early bird like me or a last minute shopper?

Finally! Someone that starts their planning as early as I do! :P
Since my Birthday is also on Christmas Day theres a lot that usually goes on with the run up to Christmas so its easier for me to do a lot of things now.

I've got a few ideas for my fiance (Can't put these down 'cause she has these forums book marked to join when her computers working again)
My parents are a bit trickier, but my mother loves listening to music so I'm trying to get my hands on a new mp3 player for her.
My father is a gardening and a cooking man, so usually I get him a book or two with a band shirt for the bands he likes.
My siblings range from ages 3-20 and i've got to buy for my niece, nephew and godson so I usually have a bit of fun with that :P its the only time of year I can act like a kid with the kids! Haha.

Well I have alreaddy got two of the gifts. I usually start in July :barefoot:. It's not that I don't like shopping in Christmastimes.. I buy when I find something like: " AHA this would be perfect to ***** ! " It don't strain my budget and I feel no stress.
And I like the feeling that it not feels like "Gahhh I have to by a present because it's Christmas soon!" Sometimes I give the gifts I get just like a surprise whenever I feel like under the year, often when I feel someone need to be cheered up a bit. It is then a gift do matters the most.

I have started to plan Christmas presents, though not bought any yet.

All the adults will receive a mixed box of home made vanilla fudge and other home made sweets. My 2 girls may also get a special piece of art work.

Which just leaves 2 grandchildren to spoil yet again, and my husbands present.

For a man who wants nothing but yet asks for everything, then I am a bit stuck for now. Though I do have one idea which may just be right up his street.

Oh I'm the party- pooper here. I'm sorry to say I don't really get Christmas. I have happy enough memories of it as a child and I have my faith but I don't get the whole idea of it. I will give my lads money and my friends children, hand make a couple of cards and have a nice family dinner with my hubby and sons, but I don't shop or join in the madness.

Oh crud, now I have to start thinking about it. Someone said the "C" word.

All kidding aside, I used to do most of my shopping while traveling over the summer. I have no clue what I am going to do this year. Because my family has grown so much, we draw names (except my sister and I don't play by the rules...) I am not even sure who I need to buy for. I do have my sister's November birthday gift ready though. Beyond that... Guess I need to start thinking.

My friends and family keep telling me I'm mad as I have already started to do my christmas.

I have done most of it and I have also done the christmas cards and wrappred the presents I have got.

I hate going shopping in the christmas spree and I'm not going in this year unless I 100% have to.
I might have to for my kids so they can go on the rides, but that will be it.

Yes. I've been thinking about it. I am trying to figure out what to get my boys this year. I try to buy in October so that it's done and also before they start putting the prices up or putting all the new toys on TV....UGH!!! I usually do alot of ordering over the internet. I keep waiting for the lightbulb to go off in my head so I get them the right thing. I have a little while longer. Wish me luck!!

Early bird here normally, but haven't actually done anything yet this year, except for a pair of silk and merino socks that I'm knitting for one of my best friends. Last year I found my first Christmas gift for my oldest daughter in July. It was the kids book from the song "Imagine" by John Lennon. It was her favorite book when she was small, and still her favorite song. She'd lost the copy she had when she was small, and had never been able to replace it. It was the first present bought, the last one opened, and she was exactly what I'd hoped for. Completely touched.

Seems I already have my pre Christmas request granted. Christmas day will be spent looking at plane tickets, flight seat stubs and photos as New York here we come. :D

My son wanted plane tickets to Schoolies week which we bought months ago (to save on flights) so he is already sorted too.

Not much else to do now except for family and a few close friends.

I don't do the christmas shop my wife does and she used to enjoy all that christmas stuff.
But this year she doesn't want to go in to town if she doesn't have to.
Amazingly she's nearly finished.

If I have to than I will take the children in so they can get donuts/floss and go on rides.
As we do it every year but I'm not sure my wife will be up to it this year but I hope so.
