Christmas List/ Shopping 2011

I was going to say sweetness... we're taking each other to NYC, so that's our Christmas present... then during Christmas, we have a office to refurbish after our recent modifications from PC to Macs, thus leaving holes in walls where monitors were attached, etc.

All I want for Christmas is for my new niece to be born healthy. Addie Grace is due December 18th.

I dont do christmas. I have a thursday or a tuesday or whatever and the day is like any other day. But the people arent in my favorite spaces so I get to enjoy them all by myself :) :)

I never could understand why a northern hemisphere custom of fattening up before the coldest of winter weather sets in, could be done when its 120 in the shade. But each to their own. I'll just enjoy sitting on the waters edge and pottering in the garden or doing washing or anything else that would be done on any other ordinary day.

I've decided this year to keep it really simple. I have been thinking about it for a couple of weeks. The holidays are sooo hard for me because of the past. I am going to decorate, cook, watch Christmas films with my boys and enjoy their time off. I am going to buy them a few movies and books, etc. and not stress myself out to shop or spend too much money. Maybe this year I can get through the holidays better if I don't work so hard at making it too much?!

I love Christmas, the family play games to humour me :roflmao:.

I hate the crowds though and for years now use the internet. I buy small things throughout the year and then give lots of small presents, I also do the homemade fudge, marzipan bars etc. I give family hampers including chutney, jam and biscuits all made by me.

It is 3rd Oct, time to start making the cake and chutneys.

Just had a phone call from the lady who runs an art and gift shop near to where we live. Hubby's Christmas present is ready for collection.

I have had this picture done onto canvas, a bit character'ish.

I Cant wait to see it, but cant get it home until next Wednesday, when my daughter is taking him out for an hour or so.
