Christmas List/ Shopping 2011

Awww, what a great idea - wish I had thought of it! I'm actually stuck for something for the Hubs this year, and our dogs are his little buddies. I think I'm quickly running out of time, though...

This is the type of dog he eventually wants to get.

Last year my daughter bought him a Westie door stop, it has never been on the floor. It sits on the kitchen table on the corner

Sometimes I give the gifts I get just like a surprise whenever I feel like under the year, often when I feel someone need to be cheered up a bit. It is then a gift do matters the most.

I think that's great. Christmas gifts are just so routine and expected. A thoughtful unexpected one is much more powerful I think. I like giving valentine gifts instead of Christmas gifts to my few friends.. because it's more unexpected and people are not as overwhelmed with gifts from everyone both ways.

Back when I bought a lot for Christmas it was kind of like sometimes you just buy to buy and be done with it. And that's kind of wasteful too.

I spoke to my brother tonight. He put Christmas into perspective for me. H had told him everyone (family = both my girls, one of their boyfriends, my brother, H and me, just us 6) would be home around Christmas. My brother said so you are all set for Christmas. I started to reply about cake, decorations etc etc etc. He just said, that is all just stuff, you are set because it is families and friends which make Christmas, not stuff.

So true.
