I HAVE PTSD , PROSTATE CANCER , DIABETIS AND CAD MY MUGA WAS IN THE 40 FOR CAD
WHY WOULD MY VSO SAY TO LEAVE THE HEART DISEASE OUT I HAD DOUBLE BY-PASS HEART ATTACKS AND SO ON
SHE SAID I WAS GOOD FOR 100 PERCENT WITH OUT IT
WHAT DO YOU THINK I SHOULD DO SHOULD I INCLUDE IT?
I think you should have asked her why she thought you should have left it out.
Here is the skinny on AO - Heart Disease. It has to be diagnosed as Ischemic Heart disease. It is a presumptive condition to AO exposure.
You stated your MUGA was 40. I assume this is the heart function performing at 40% after a multigated acquisition scan. CAD is Coronary Artery Disease which is in essence Ischemic Heart Disease. I'm only speculating. I'm not a doctor.
I think your VSO is being a little reckless in telling you should be good for 100%.
Are you on insulin for diabetes with a modified diet and modified activity? If not you are looking at 10-20%.
Your Prostate cancer, is it in remission? While the cancer is active it is 100% and 6 month after surgery or treatment. While it's in remission it completely depends on the residuals of the disease.
It will be anyone's guess what your PTSD rating could be. Quick math for you. Lets say you get granted for 20% diabetes TPII, 50% PTSD and 30% of residuals from Prostate Cancer. You still have only 70% total disability.
You VSO is doing a you a grave disservice by telling you to stop at 100% and don't pass go. She's taking the lazy way to your claim.
If a veteran has 100% plus and additional 60% of additional disabilities the Veteran is entitled to Special Monthly Compensation. This could be an additional $300 and change on top of the 100% disability rate.
Also, with prostate cancer if you have lost the use of the creative organ (dick) then you are automatically entitled to SMC-K which is
$103.54 of additional money on top of other compensation entitlements.
With the Diabetes, do you have Peripheral Neuropathy? Most diabetics do. It's the tingling of the lower extremities from nerve damage.
