@Endofwar That topic interests me greatly. In college I did a gigantic research thing on that, right there. Ended up getting a journalist's web browser because some of the stuff I found was... not great. It was triggering, too, because I had a relationship with a pedophile as a child and it confuses the hell out of me, but I finished the project.

I don't want to use this space to debate, like I said, but I'm familiar with sexual orientation arguments of all kinds. Even talked to some farmers who were in love with cows. Odd day, that day. I will probably never discuss it outside of science-based discussion spaces, because it makes me uncomfortable to discuss it for expected and unexpected reasons. So... doesn't belong here :P But I appreciate it. I also agree with @Swift that it's an apples to oranges argument -- but I get what you're saying.

I have had discussions like that about my service dog, too, about whether she's "consented" to work long hours. The answer is yes, because she's bred that way for example, or because it's positive work that clearly boosts her confidence -- but obviously she can't sign a paper. Lol. But that's a different discussion all together, and I'd never compare it to an abusive relationship.

But anyway :) My brother and I may never agree, so we BOTH need to accept that

I think this is very open minded of you to look at such things as farmers in love with cows.

I think some Old Testament stuff about laying with, or having sexual relations with, a, b, c is sort of meant as general advice for more rural people who might tend towards doing things more so than people today.

But then there are almost certainly traumatized or high functioning autistic or something else people who don't understand and can't handle human emotions and therefore uncomplicated animals might naturally tend towards being somehow attractive to them and who the hells business is it to tell them they are wrong?

Paul writing in letters from Greece maybe about homosexuality is also difficult. Greek culture had probably for many centuries accepted pederasty and this was probably spread to some extent to much of civilized world with Alexander the Great who was educated in Athens and probably had a male lover. So Christian criticisms are rooted in something legitimate, but then saying all such and such and criticizing people who are going to be a way almost no matter what is also unfair.
