"It is so nice that the shackles have been taken off me and I can now fight for America the way I want to." - Donald Trump (on twitter)

Can we finally bury the argument of many in the GOP that they can control Trump? I never thought it was possible to control him any more that it was possible to control Trump by immersing him in politics any more than it is possible to control a wildfire by immersing it gasoline. Maybe they will let go of it too. Probably not.

I also believe we really have been dealing with a Trump that was trying to hold back, for moments at a time, every since he joined forces with Rodger Ailes.

Some in the GOP are calling to remove him from the ticket. I say no. You bought him, you picked him, you chose him, you stopped every attempt to legally and honestly remove him form the ticket, no surprising info has come out that we didn't know before.

Let him stay on the ballot and let be him. Unshackled. Let him be FULLY him to help people see what they will be in store for with him as president. Then let the American people choose.

Some are beginning to claim that Clinton's email situation is actually the fault of Trump: Why Hillary Clinton’s “Emailgate” Is a Fake Scandal (article is from Newsweek)

They both picked each other as friends long before this election started. I'm sort of disgusted by this whole election. Sorry all for a moment of emotionality about the mess also known as American politics.

Yep, the Republican Party has been priming itself for decades for a Trump to get on the ballot. They have no one else to blame.

You are totally entitled to more than a moment of emotionality about all this. NO apology necessary :).

You got yourself out there and fought the good fight, and I know it wasn't easy. For that, you have my eternal respect.

Something that's been bugging me for months with all the election chaos: what are we being distracted from?

And what is happening with Russia and the Trump vs Clinton debacle?

Donald Trump Jr believes that women who can't handle sexual harassment should "leave the workforce." - Dead Link Removed
"Donald Trump Jr. offered some unsolicited career advice for women concerned about sexual harassment in the workplace: Just quit, already."

What?!

So much for this Trump kid seeming like a reasonable person. He's too much like his namesake.

Trump is normalizing rape culture. The fact that any public figure is allowed to get away with this is appalling. The fact that the Republican nominee for president is getting away with it is an abomination. Anyone who supports him in the face of this should be ashamed. Maybe I'm bending or breaking the rules @joeylittle set down. But I've had it. As Michelle said, enough is enough.

Just read that piece. It's true that Trump's goal seems to be that. It's not necessarily true that he's succeeding. There's a conversation starting and I think that's good. Lines are being drawn and people are taking sides. I actually think that's good too. If someone really thinks like Trump does it's good to know. That thinking has been out there all along. I'd rather know, for sure, what kind of person I'm dealing with.

There was an interesting story on public radio on my way home tonight. They have a reporter in India and they interviewed her about that country's reactions to this stuff. Because of the serious problem they've had in India with rapists getting off easy. She said most of the country is shocked and appalled. Even though the reason they have the problems they do is that there are a lot of men, especially older men, in India who don't think any more of women than to treat them that way. She said it's starting a conversation there. That it looks bad, even there, when a rich powerful person acts the way Trump has acted. She says, in the end, maybe some good will come of it, in spite of him.

I'll buy that. But the rest of us have to stand up to him, and the rest, and call them what they are. Evil.
