Cocktail Of Medication - Should I Continue To Take Them?

I afraid and ashamed at the same time for the things I will reveal to these psychotherapist and myself is not 'normal' like many people out there.

I would encourage you to reconsider psychotherapy. I think psychotherapists don't expect their clients to be normal. I've worried about talking to therapists, and I think it's a good idea to be careful about it. But if you choose carefully the psychotherapist should accept you and what you say. I have always been believed and respected.

If you've experienced trauma, I think you need to see a trauma specialist. There are also different types of therapy, and you would need to think about the type that might suit you.

Regarding the medication, you should see a doctor or psychiatrist as soon as possible and tell them. You were taking a number of drugs for a long time, and the withdrawal could still be affecting you. Don't just start taking them again, though. This could also have bad effects. I understand your reasons for wanting to stop, but you shouldn't make any changes to your medication without medical advice. You really need to see a professional.

Hi Phoenix13,

Have you been stopping and starting meds? It's a good idea to see a doctor and as Albatross recommended, talking to your pharmacist (but really important is seeing your doctor) and to get back on track!

It's really important I have learned to take your meds as prescribed, I try to take mine consistently at the same hour each day.

Good luck, you can and will prevail! I'm really proud of you for reaching out for help. There are a lot of caring people on this forum and it is a very safe place.

Looking forward to your next post, I will be saying my prayers for you to sort this out and get on a better path. This medication mix up can happen to anyone, it's just not a good place to be at all. I believe everyone has great empathy for your situation.

I do find it very helpful to have traditional psychotherapy, even if I can only afford it once a month. The EMDR processing and a lot of the trauma work is difficult. At least for me, it really really helps to visit my therapist. Her office is a safe place and we talk and she supports me by providing insights and helping redirect my energies when necessary. She gives me inspiration and goals that I cannot fail at! Every appointment has collectively improved my stability and mental health since being diagnosed with PTSD a year and a half ago. She also reminds me about self-care and talks to me about meds. Medications are tricky, that is why she wants me to see a psychiatrist or psycho-pharmacologist here. She reads a lot of studies about medicines, which I do not like to take (we share this in common).
