Colorful and hopefully optimistic but maybe hateful occasionally

Good news: just checked the news, my specific area is officially in the all clear

I can see five tornadoes nearby, but they are too many miles away to make it here. But it does mean there is trouble for others. I wonder what this will do for voting. I early voted and am not regretting that decision at all (plus it was so quick!)

Hopefully the ibuprofen will kick in so I can snooze! I wonder if emergency services has to deal with a lot. I hope not

Oof, did not have a single good dream last night.

Argued with people, there were tornadoes (my phone LOVES suggesting this emoji today ?), Brandi tricked me into a sexual situation while an onion-carrying ghost demon thing was killing a guy in the office who has scheduled a family night with his kids — I stopped trying to sleep after telling at someone for selling my ice cream and then interrupting me when I was telling them off. Arragant dream person.

Wow, the news is not cheery today. At least almost everyone is alive though ??

Looks like only one of the several tornadoes actually touched down in this area. However, a few hundred might not vote to do losses of power?? Hopefully they’ll be allowed to vote in new locations. We have power here!

Maybe I should just go eat breakfast in my not-destroyed-but-still-a-wreck-anyway house

I sound kind of pessimistic today. I think it’s okay for today though. Some things just suck

On the bright side (am I Pollyanna??) the weather is beautiful and my pets are happy that they don’t sense a giant rumbly disturbance

Fun fact: unlike my mom’s decision suggests, you never wait to hear or see a tornado to react to one. Always take shelter immediately when a warning goes out. By the time you hear or see them, you will no longer have time to seek shelter — they’re fast like trains!

? ? why is there an engine emoji for the train, but not the coal cart, nor a cargo cart, nor a caboose???

Also my house smells like bleach, I guess my mom cleaned something. Niiiice

Holy crap nuggets batman! What a wild day for you. Glad you are safe and it's over.
I always wanted to be a storm chaser. In another life (one where I can do math!) I will be a meteorologist because weather just fascinates the crap out of me. Probably because I'm on the west coast and we aren't known for our storms (except for beach ones - those can get pretty epic).

Funny 911 story. Got a call from a guy telling me there was a "tornado sky". Now we have had one, yea, one, tornado here in 50 years. We sometimes get the little tiny poof ones that make all the news channels for taking out the Oleary shed kind of thing but they rate about a .25 on the tornado scale. Basically windstorms with delusions of grandeur.

This guy is just undone when I asked, uhmmm, ok, have you talked to the weather service? He's yapping at me and telling me I need to set of the tornado sirens and blah blah. Was TOTALLY undone when I said....yea, we don't have those. He started screaming bad words at me and hung up.

Welcome to the west coast dude. Tsumanis and volcanos will get you long before tornadoes do!

Glad you are safe and it's over.
Me too! Thanks :D

Lol! People are so funny. It sucks to be terrified of nothing! Hahahaha. Next time I see a funnel (cake) I’m going to try calling 911 and saying it looks “tornado-y” :P

“Hi 911, there’s a TUBE”

I wanted to be a storm chaser as a kid! I would still do it if I had a vehicle that was safe enough for that kind of spotting! It’s hard to know which direction they’re going. They’re just too big D:

One guy around here has a big truck with a rollover cage. He chases tornadoes for pictures and videos that he sells all winter and summer for profit. (Seems like a stressful gig even when the weather is nice. Imagine needing bad weather to feed people D: but he might have a second job.) The rollover cage has saved their lives at least once! Shit happens!
