Well....it's working. I'm a bit disturbed by the fact that I don't know why it's working any more than I know why it wasn't working. In the process of trying to start it in safe mode, I came across a different way to shut off & restart it and now works. From what I saw online, this might be a common problem. :(

I have a problem concerning my email. It may have been hacked, not sure. I opened that account sometime during the mid 1980s. It's a Gmail account. I was able to change the password, and able to almost get back into it, but now it wants me to do a "security check". I will have to answer a bunch of questions that I answered back then in the same way again now. I have not even tried to do this. How can anyone expect me to know/ recall the answers I gave way back then?

I have tried to open a new account somewhere else, but they all seem to want me to already have an email account in order to back the new one up to it! How can anyone get a new account without having one already? What does one do when they are young and need their first email account? It's a catch 22 kinda situation.

Gmail didn't exist before 2002 or so.

You should be able to open a new email account with a cell phone number.

You should be able to reset all the security and get access. You just keep saying I forgot everything and it will make you do it all over. It should. You can also open multiple gmails, I have several including the one from the eighties : ) using a different email address. I had to set one up for all my family members, each individual iPhone has to have its own email.

Well, I know I got some kind of private mail account with Prodigy, maybe. My memory is kind of sketchy back that far, so I guess maybe I must be a "time traveller". @somerandomguy
