Can you attach another webcam and see if that works before you rip out the one you have? Does that...

I think you mean try an external one? That's not it though. Probably easier but I'm stubborn. Known issue. The integrated camera is easy to remove? It's not even held in with a screw, it snaps in. The bezel around the screen snaps on and off. It's testing it or getting another one. I got it working before. I still think it's software but once I start unplugging things I'm never quite sure after that. I'm pissed already I've screwed around with it so much. Love computers.

I am screwing around with my integrated webcam and it won't work. I don't use it but I got it to turn...

Were you able to identify the manufacture for webcam?

A few things i would try are:

1. Try unghost via the registry. Type regedit or regedit32... or download a registry editor and search for the device. U can check the value code 0 or 1 for hide unhide. ** becareful when making changes to registry.

2. Go to system properties and unselect automatic driver installation. Then go to devices and uninstall the driver and delete device. Run a registry cleaner like CCleaner or Ace Utilities to clean reg. Reboot and go back to system devices to see if the hardware is detected. Select and manually install drivers if you have downloaded. U can also try older drivers too.

3. Like 2 but install non Dell drivers after identifying make and model. You could also try a generic driver. Sometimes I have to use older drivers for stability.

I had similar problem with my bluetooth. If i install ones from samsung site it buggy. So instead of installing the samsung software to run the bluetooth, I just installed generic toshiba bluetooth drivers and it works. Does not ghost out.

Took the bezel off took the camera out and unplugged it. It was 'stuck' onto a foil backing. (I read how to do it in the manual.) The reason I wanted to do this is that I was fed up with screwing around with it and the way the plug is situated. Several threads had this as a solution. It's not a snap or a click you just push it in and you can just pull it out. So then I turned the computer on and plugged it in. It appeared immediately in device manager but wouldn't 'turn on' in windows. So I shut the computer off and put it back together as carefully as I could, some of the sticky backing was dislodged. It went back together fine but when I restarted the computer it was ghosted in device manager. Now I've run through the drivers again. The Microsoft driver shows it ghosted in device mgr, the Realtec driver off Dells' website makes it disappear entirely.

I'm still thinking after all this that it's a driver issue.

OP here. I got my new phone today and it says that the microSDHC Card does not come with it. I do not know what this thing is, whether the phone will work without it, what it does, etc. Keep in mind that I am not that computer savvy, so try to keep the answer(s) simple. Thanks.

So..yes your phone will definitely work as of now if you are connected to a carrier etc.,

The microSDHC card expands the memory you have on your phone. Maybe from 12gb to (size of card you want to purchase 16gb, 64 gb etc.They get more expensive as you buy more g's.)

You buy the microSDHC separately and there should be a slot to put it in but get the place where you buy the card (electronics shop or where you bought the phone if you prefer) - to put it in for you if you are not comfortable doing this. But you don't have to buy one if you really don't need all the extra space.

The instructions or online manual will show you where it fits and which way it fits in.

Then you can save things (like photos) to the card rather than your phone. Good for preserving space on your phone for ordinary functions.

Just had another "I have to fix this" fit. It's a good way to waste half a day. I have done everything and I'm still convinced the camera should be working. I found a replacement one on Ebay for about 5 bucks! Can you imagine wasting this kind of time? lol I just have to fix it. I'll get it somehow, eventually even if it's buying a new one, internal or external. I wonder if Best Buy can test the actual camera. I'm not afraid to take it out anymore. I just want to know if the camera actually "failed." It seems probable, the stuff they put in these is such junk. My last laptop, which was HP, everything failed slowly over about five years.

I'm over here on the new internet. They upgraded me to 100 GB FIOS. SO fast. : ) Installing stuff on the laptop. Checking email. It's all shifting over here. Tomorrow night we sleep here. All I can say is not much! We are doing our best. Having the internet go off on Thursday or whatever it was made everything SO much worse lol.

It came up in one of the groups I belong to that there are apps for DBT/CBT and one is apparently called Woebot. I looked it up, and it shows a phone as the entry point, so I assume it is for phones. Trouble is, I have no clue how to do apps on my phone. I barely know how to do something like that (downloading it, using it, etc.) on my computer.

Would Woebot work on a laptop? I have no clue.

Woebot is built for a phone, but looks like it’s downloadable for supported Android and Chromebook devices - but can't be used on Windows computers.
