@lostforgottensoul I write this here because it makes more sense in this thread: we do have prebiotic Tablets with Sacharomyces boulardi over here but they are marketed for diarrhea. I am not sure if they are the same.
We also have prebiotic yoghurts But they are also marketed mostly for diarrhea and they promise to give you a better immune system but I did some reading and learned they may also work for constipation.

@Lucycat Thanks for sharing. What you say about the balloon makes a lot of sense. Does that mean, that constipation is not automatically gone once you eat better?

So my guy has really stocked to a changed diet and he is feeling much better but unfortunately he is still feeling a little sick. Maybe it needs a bit more time?
We found some healthy things he likes a lot/found out some things he actually likes a lot are actually healthful.
For example he always like berries a lot and I found out that they have far more fiber than cucumbers/tomatoes and so on. I also started buying whole grain spelt bread for our family and he loves it and the kids do too. We never had that before.

I did some more research and found some interesting info... for example: did you know that according to a study whole grain rye bread (without a laxative) helped better against constipation that wheat bread + a lacative. I found this on a scientific page. Not fake news. I did not bookmark it but if someone is interested I will search if a can find it again.

Maybe it needs a bit more time?

Yes it does. I think you are doing a great job with changing the diet to one that is both healthful and sustainable. There is no point in buying food that nobody will eat or tastes horrible. But there are lots of foods that are very beneficial in terms of nutrition and gut health and taste great too.

Keep researching for good foods and good recipes to try.

The gut flora that have been either starved or depleted do take a fair while to regenerate in population so I'd stick with the diet long term and hopefully his gut will begin to heal and he will not feel so unwell.

There is no overnight fix in terms of diet. And in addition to diet, lots of water and rigorous exercise regularly will help everything along too.

You are doing a fine job getting new foods accepted into the family diet. I know it can be very challenging.
