Sorry for my english, but is it possible to develope musical ear (identify chords..) as someone with c-ptsd (because the concentration problems)

playing music is my most effective therapy tool for my own cptsd. emphasis on "playing." listening to music is far too passive for my therapy needs. recorded music barely even sound like music to me. i need those live tones to connect. through playing music, i can combine breathing, emotional channeling and physical balance in a single exercise.

Yes. Of all the mental exercises music always seems to be the least affected. Concentration always seems better when there is music. Seriously. If you want to - then do it for you. The only thing that could be bad is an impatient teacher.

I play violin. My only problems were doing exams. (yeah - imagine that.)

Apart from that - music brings rhythm to my day and my life whether its me or someone else playing......

Certainly.

It’s also possible for musical prodigies with PTSD to no longer even be able to listen, much less play.

HUGE spectrum of effects, depending on the individual, themselves.

Music, as well as learning to play an instrument, are both often used as therapy for PTSD.
