Cracking Jaw And Other Somatic Pains

Hi,

My TMJ is stress related I am pretty sure, my knee has scar tissue in it and a severed nerve which is not from stress.

Myofascial release is massage, only they do three dimensional pulls... it's similar to bodywork or maybe falls into that category.

There is lately a lot of news about myofascial release being accepted by the medical community and it does work. Certain parts of myofascial release can relaxing and/or promote well being. If you find someone who can do a good TMJ massage it's one of the best feelings in the world as a TMJ suffer, I have to say. My face and jaw felt like it was melting off, in a good way... all these face and jaw muscles that were so tense were so relaxed!

Myofascial release for breaking down scar tissue can be painful and involves deep breathing. It does overall help with the burdern of daily pain.

I highly recommend myofascial releaes and massage work on TMJ. I tend to spit out my night guard at night but do wear it during the day if no one is around and it's not obstrusive!
