Dating Someone With Their Own Form Of Ptsd Triggers Men.

I am currently maybe I don't know at this time Maybe in the past dated someone with their own problems. They're own PTSD. Which when she was triggered by my anxiety would send her into panic and cause her Dragon to come out which caused my PTSD monster to become released and just devastate everything. I am trying to work on controlling my PTSD monster by groups and counseling but the part that gets me is that I am supposed to agree on whatever she wants be it space or whatever but my feelings and needs are not respected. Does anyone have any ideas.

My own experience is that one sided relationships either don't work, or become sick/abusive. I'm divorced though, so take that with a grain of salt.

Something my son and I do, though, is unilateral rules.
Meaning that they apply to the both of us.
For example:

- Yelling is okay if there is danger or you're far away
- Timeouts are sacrosanct. If someone has placed themselves on a timeout, the other needs to respect that.
- Timeouts aren't punishment, but a time to let hot rage dissipate and cool reason to return.
- In order to come off of Timeout a person needs to be able to say (without getting emotional about it): What happened, why it happened, at least 2 alternatives for the next time it happens, and put it right. ((ex: what: Punched a wall, why: felt helpless because I can't control family court, alternatives for sensory explosion after feeling helpless: go spar against the bag or jump in the pool, put it right: apologize to anyone who saw/heard me do that, tape up my hand instead of injuring it further out of spite, & patch/paint the drywall. ))
