@Snowflake Seriously??? You're going back to work tomorrow???? Don't you think that a few more days off is in order? Shit, you've had 2 surgeries in 2 weeks, you're tired and lightheaded. Do you really think this is a wise decision? I know how being out of work hits the wallet, I do, as I am self supporting with no one to help. But I think this is an unwise decision....

@Snowflake personally I think your dr is an asshole!!! !!! !! When I had my second lump removed, the dr told me to stay out of work for at least 1 week, I was the one that ignored his advice and ended up having an hematoma and split open my incision that bled for 3 weeks. Just saying........

@Snowflake How was work today? Are you feeling less lightheaded and tired???[/QUOT...

I took it easy....it was okay. Felt blah in the beginning but towards the end felt a little better. Just quiet-my supervisor said I should have taken another day. But I still haven't heard about fmla-so I'm trying to be careful-

Hope you are feeling better, hope hubby has eased up a bit on negative thinking. @She Cat , we agree, l am single because of not supportive men in my lifetime. But it seems at least you are moving forward. Just talk to t about your fears of whatever, and see if t is just wrapped up on treating your cancer anxiety feelings. Therapy and therapists can only do so much, when the sky falls on you, you need about 30 therapists around you. Just give t a chance, ask questions, maybe you fear being abandoned at this stage of the game due to the parents poor treatment when you were sick. Ok, glad you are little better. Keep us updated.

He says he has taken of me this past month now I need to take care of him. I

You're in the middle of cancer treatment!!! That lasts longer than a month!!! :banghead:

I am more than a little pissed off at your husband. He's got his head shoved so far up his ass that the little bump in his throat is his nose. :shifty:

@Snowflake YES! You can do this. Call that freaking asshole of a Dr and demand the papers or whatever it is that you need. YES! You can do this!!!!!! Do this for YOU!!!!

@She Cat... Absolutely agree with you. It's blameshifting, cowardly, assholery. 1 month into a process that takes 6-12mo, just a few days post-OP, haven't even started radiation yes... And present an impossible ultimatum (your turn to take care of me, now, or we should get a divorce)??? I am beyond furious.

@Snowflake... All the work you have done doesn't vanish in the face of monumental stressors & emergencies. You take care of the emergency in front of you, and then can look behind you, again. Like driving a car. Sometimes you need your eyes on the road you're driving.

You can also take a sick-day (or several) while you're *sorting out* your FMLA. You don't have to sort FMLA before you take time off. Your GP can write a note for today/tomorrow/etc. while you get in contact with your radiologist.

ETA... In FACT... Most cancer care clinics have a few dedicated social workers (aka that's all they do, is work with that clinics cancer patients and their families, and are in no way responsible for the rest of the hospital, because CancerCare is a huuuuuge job). Whose JOB it is to provide case management & streamline resources / getting needs met for patients. Including FMLA & doctors notes (as well as insurance, housing, groceries, counseling... Pretty much any resource a patient needs). One reason you may be running into trouble is that you're trying to do this all yourself, instead of the more normal route of having the clinic social worker advocate for you.
