Do Men "need" Sex, If So, Why?

A lot of women will say their husband or boyfriend needs sex more than they do.

Thats sex drive which is a want and an urge but not a need. As in "i need to drink & eat". No one dies for lack of sex.

I want sex more than any man ive met. But i dont die for lack of it. So depends on the defintion of "need".

Ummm, chances are the woman's emotional needs aren't being met.

Why can't everyone get their needs met, as in, women feel emotionally connected and men can to, from sharing feelings, emotions, and physical intimacy. That's the key to a happy relationship. These elements must dance together. Not just "give it up so he'll be happy."

I feel fine without it, better, in fact. And I know lots of women who feel the same. But.. They compromise....

And I'd like to add that this topic is very much not just limited to the aspect of sex being one of the five love languages. It's MUCH more involved than that.

The love language aspect can be used in the context of a relationship but not as much outside of a relationship.

Then again------I think every guy I've ever been with has told me they love me while in the middle------damn those love chemicals are powerful! (Believe you me-----only one was ever from someone who loved me.)

Nowhere did I ever say the woman's needs shouldn't be met; on the contrary I brought up the 5 love languages. Obviously the OP speaks a different language, agreed that everyone's needs should be met.

I've been watching this thread since this morning for 2 reasons...

1) sex is a difficult topic to combat with PTSD
2) it was started in an open forum by an anonymous person (which came across as very strange to me)

I wasn't going to post, I was just going to read and see if I could learn anything until the snide remark about how men should just go pleasure themselves came about (this is not helpful in a relationship) I tried to bring to the table something helpful and have been kicked because of it, so I am going to politely piss off and not post in this thread anymore. I can tell when my opinion is not wanted, and it is certainly not wanted here.

I think the point needs to be made that the OP is talking about sex and Florian is talking about love.

OP, can you clarify?

Your opening post seems to say it's about sex (and this is how I've responded), but Florian is introducing the concept of love which to me is very different.
