Do you ever want to take something you said in therapy back?

I recently revealed some trauma to My therapist. Now she has made a whole plan on me making a trauma narrative and a whole plan to talk about it and everything. She asked me was I okay with this and I'm willing to try. But truth is I'm terrified. She told me it won't be easy but I feel like this is Just so much. It's a long process but I don't like crying or anything like that especially in front of people. I will have to give details then but I feel like I want to take everything back. Does anyone else ever feel like that ?

Ha! Every time I walk through the door... HOWEVER, truth is I am happy I am beginning to move through it because running around it doesn't work either. It is scary, it is sickening, it does make you vulnerable and it certainly isn't easy. Hang in there... Keep on working.

I either want to take everything back, or nothing.

I tend to think seven times before saying anything, no matter how small, so often times it's quite an ordeal to get me to share even bits.

Oh yes! Every time I let go of something or let him in, I tend to have a freak out of some sort. Building trust and following through with it, is hard work! Being in a vulnerable position is difficult when you've experienced trauma, and it happens over and over again.

Good news? It does get easier, freak outs get sorter and I have become more adept at feeling my way through, even with tears in front of him.

Keep going, you'll get there!
