Do you have a piece of clothing (or accessory) that always brings you comfort/nostalgia/makes you feel good in yourself whenever you wear it?

For me it's a pair of blue jeans. They're worn in; the fabric is so soft and comfortable. The fit is perfect - the length and their fit around my hips and legs. The wash on the jeans looks really nice. And the pockets are the perfect size. No other pair of jeans I've bought has ever come close.

So what's yours? :)

More of an accessory..I have a piece of coconut shell, sanded and designed into the face of a monkey. Put on a chain. It’s hard to explain. I made it while volunteering in Asia and was in a really good place mentally. If I’m feeling vulnerable I wear it and if I need grounded I seem to hold it at my neck/chest.

I have this white sweater. It goes with me everywhere for the 3 warmer seasons of the year. I wear it when I am in air conditioned areas. I am cold natured and I usually feel cold in other people's comfort temperature zones. So, I take care of that by always having it with me and using it whenever I feel cold. Then I feel warm and cozy and all is well. (Then in winter I have a gray velvet jacket that serves the same purpose, but is considerably warmer. I need it, even when other folks' heaters are at the temps that make them comfy).

My blue jean bib overall shorts. I'm usually the most productive when I'm wearing them, so I guess I feel they help give me a more specific driven purpose in my days. Until the weather gets cold....then it's a favorite pair of $3.00 thrift shop LL Bean jeans that feel more comfy than I knew jeans ever could.

I've a favourite top/dress. Black stretch jersey, high necked long sleeve swing dress. It has a hanky hem, is around knee length. Hugs the figure in the right places. I absolutely love it.

I used to have a cardigan that I would have chosen as my firm fav but I lost it a couple years ago. Black, with a navy hint to it. Crocheted, waterfall style. It really suited me, was lovely and warm but not much and looked really stylish. Made me feel good wearing it. I miss it!

I have a large hooded sweatshirt that my parents gave me a few years ago. I have no idea why I have such an attachment to it. It's soft and too large and it's really dumb, it says "Dayton Triangles" on the front and has the score of the first NFL game on the back. (Dayton Triangles 14, Columbus Panhandles 0. Wooo! Go Triangles!)

Oh yea, my khaki army style trousers cos they are comfy and as they are cotton i dont get too warm in them and my Peanuts snoopy t-shirt. This t-shirt i would wear when doing emdr in therapy and became almost my comfort blanket, t even commented once that i wasnt wearing it !! Its now my ‘nightime /bed stand in pj top’ cos i cannot bare to part with it.
