I wanted to ask the group this question, it seems that in combat we would change up our routes and/or time we would conduct missions. On the other hand when you have the same routine you seem to notice when something is off better, i suppose it's all preferance. what do you prefer now days?

Probably different with everyone. I'm a ship guy. So....rack, bridge, chow line...repeat. Everything is a routine.

And you are right....change one thing...I notice. They changed the seating arrangement in my group therapy one time. I just had to speak up. Sometimes I wonder if PTSD is part autism.

i found that while in combat we would change what we did so we would not set patterns. this made missions slightly safer. now days i keep the same routine and often watch for spotters and things out of the normal pop out at me. any change makes me nervous for hours if not days. as you mentioned wagon we may share some traits that fall within the autism spectrum. kinda strange, yet true.

That makes a lot of sense, we did that as well. The enemy is always watching.

But to answer your question as far as now is concerned I'd say I have a set pattern of things that I do everyday. When things come up I make changes as needed. Still stick to the routine though. It helps me feel like I've accomplished something every day, if that makes sense.

The calmness of regularity. Because combat is neither regular or calm. Makes sense.

Let's see, what degree of repetitive planning do I make. What time is it? Christ, I never know what this tornado in my head is going to send me spiraling out into an orbit I had never seen coming, nor were I prepared for.

Translation: I'm too much a dingbat to make a plan. It's pretty much putting out fires.

What an existence, peril to peril.

His middle name should be TIMEX -- "takes a lickin' but keeps on tickin".

Incomprehensible bravery, so far beyond the call of duty. He makes me proud to say I'm an American.

It's actually good to see that stuff sometimes; to remind myself where I was and what we did. When I look back I'm amazed that we did survive all of that. My guardian angel must have been workin' overtime back then.
