Does Anyone Work From Home?

Hello All,

I really want to be able to make money again, but I can hardly leave my house and I start online classes tomorrow (only two). Does anyone work from home? I'm trying to find resources and information about work from home positions as this seems, to me at least, the best route to go right now.

I actually work for myself, and kind of made my own job specific to what I have skiills for and which also would earn some kind of living-that's something to consider, if you can.

There are several things along that line working for others, I hear. Medical billing is one-one of my sisters did that for a bit on piece-work and did ok with it. It depends on how creative, or how much time/energy you might have personally. too. I know someone who thought ;what the heck' and advertised to IRON SHIRTS ( on the grounds that it costs a lot for professionals to take their shirts to the laundry) and has a decent amount of business.I know a grandmother who babysits only 2 children while parents work-babies because they need special attention and 2 so you don't need a liscence. There are some companies who have found it cheape to farm out some of their IT requirements rather than have them in-house, I guess finding them would be the issue. If you look through a head-hunter, try to make sure it's one who does not charge YOU, but the charge falls on the employer. The other kinds tend to be schmucks, really, taking a percentage of already-not-huge-wages. :) I have a friend who does catalogong for a college textbook company from home, actually-works an 8 hour day and does well. It's doable-so maybe it is a matter of either seeing if you'd rather work entirely for yourself, or finding a company ( through ads or a headhunter) who would employ you at home.

Medical transcribing is something my friend does.... I think you need an "in" as it may be competitive. Many are looking for this option. What are your strengths? Have any people to recommend you to a practice or any venue? Use your closest resources 1st.

I am an artist and work from home. It is just as challenging at times. You must be very disciplined. I have a hard time but is worth it! Wish you the best.... I hear any more about this I'll let ya know!

I completed the last 3 years of high school online from home because being in a public setting with so many people and with men around was unbearable. I have just quit my job as my anxiety levels and stress levels were out of control to the point of my physical health getting very severe. I am now depending on Employment Insurance which will help set me up with an online job so I can work from home. I'm unable to work in a public setting so this is something I need to do. Luckily, they said they are able to help in setting me up with an online job.
There are many online jobs and jobs that allow you to work from home. They are just hard to find. I do wish you find that job. I know just how hard it is as I'm in the same position. You're in my prayers. Hang in there and I know you'll find something.
If I get more information on where you can look for an online job from home I will let you know!

Manic's post reminded me of a program there is in my state-PA-and do not know if there's anything similar elsewhere. I do forget what it's called, but it does 'match up' needs of employers with needs of employees, and I hear this includes work from home for those who just plain can't get out.

Hee-Arista, yes, exactly with the discipline-was up at 3am last week completing an order for the next day. I knew I could have called and re-sceduled but just could not bring myself to be that off scedule! Lots harder, probably, to get up and travel to one's office at 3 am!
