He hasn't qualified for any explanations. You don't need to justify your position to him at all. You have absolutely done the right thing for your kids, for your puppy (yay! the puppy gets to stay & be loved!), and you've done the right thing for yourself. If your brain EVER starts questioning whether you did the right thing, or whether you were too harsh, that's your battered self-esteem talking. You deserve better and you've done the right thing. Don't stop believing that:)

And I just want to add to that If I may. Having been in a physically abusive relationship in the past, you have these moments & know things aren't right. Then he makes you feel like you're imagining things or blowing it out of proportion. So you accept it and things get worse. But please do not wait until things get worse to start to make a plan & try to leave. It only gets harder & more ddangerous the longer you wait

I am not seeing a therapist yet. Whole issue with transferring insurance to new county.

Please! I have been married for 20 years and on this site as my husband has just had a melt down and he has PTSD from the police force. I have lots of reasons to try and sort this out or make a decision if I need to leave. I also know who he was before this..

YOU DON'T. Your children are your priority. You are your priority. PTSD is a terrible affliction but you and your children do not need to start t his journey. Please, walk away for the sake of your kids.
