I don't have good sleep at night, waking sporadically when I do, and find great difficulty in drifting back off again. I have tried Zopiclone but after 3 incidents which I can't remember, I've woken up in Accident & Emergency. Once I was found lying in a bush in my front garden, another time I was found lying in a country lane, and the 3rd I've no idea.
Back to my dreams/nightmares, these are quite vivid and contain a lot of detail. On waking I remember it briefly and then it slips my memory, no matter how hard I try I can't remember what I was dreaming about.
Later that day or the following days, while working, driving, or doing something totally unconnected, an image flashes into my head and disappears. This causes me to try process the image, bring back more information from the depths of my mind, and try working out if it was something that actually happened or another midnight mind movie!
On rare occasions the flashing image is from a long and distant nightmare. The process that follows is usually quite drawn out as I relive the image and following information, slowly piecing together the images, and eventually parts of the nightmare unfold. Once I have some short clips back in my memory the hard part is trying to work out if its an actual memory of a real event, or a nightmare leaking back into my memory.
