Emdr: It All Starts Now

She told me she is afraid of the person she will be on the other side of her treatment. Like she would be some ogre who doesnt want anything to do with being in our family, and wants to sleep with any schmuck who looks twice at her and be gone for weeks at a time.

My question is this. Does anyone have any experience of EMDR or any other PTSD treatment backfiring or not having the desired effect?

There is a thread about when it doesn't work. Not sure what it is called, try a site search - EMDR goes wrong.

Her fears are a normal responce IMHO. I felt similar, however I felt I had more to lose by not undergoing EMDR. Your wife needs to be honest with her T about her concerns.
