I had a complete blank of a childhood for most of my life.
With trauma work, as I deal with the issues currently affecting my life, new memories are revealed. I have learned to trust that my brain knows what I can handle and reveals only what I am safe to consciously know.
I'm five years into my diagnosis, and a lot of my memories have returned, including many good ones. But I'm still in Eye-Movement-Desensitization-Reprocessing (EMDR) on a weekly basis, and I have become a true evangelist for trauma therapy. My life has never felt better.
