Empty the Dishwasher

I don't know if all husbands or all scientists are the same, but...
When we wives and girlfriends ask our men to empty the dishwasher, we expect that they will do it correctly. Can a man empty the dishwasher wrong? Oh yes.

I just found a dirty frying pan stored away, that had been through the dishwasher, but clearly it needed some more scrubbing and another trip through the dishwasher. I mentioned this to my DH, who responded, "You asked me to empty the dishwasher, you didn't ask me to make sure everything was clean!"

My daughters tried this trick they learned from their father, too. Nothing's more frustrating than pulling something out of a cupboard and it's still dirty. Grrrr!!!

Both of my daughters and husband are of the assumption that the dishwasher is a magical machine where you can put the dirtiest dish around and it will come out sparkling clean with no help from them whatsoever. Reminders that it's a machine and not magic are met with snarky comments (DH) about why do we bother to even have one if it doesn't work right. *rolling eyes* Whatever!

This problem is avoided in my house. My husband doesn't empty the dishwasher. lol

He will handle some big dishes that wont fit in the dishwasher though.

Hey, don't lump all us guys in the same pile. I empty the dishwasher quite often and I tend to be much more careful about spotting dirty items than my wife.

I like this one. I also like it when dirty dishes are sitting on the counter next to the empty dishwasher. Is it that hard to open the door and check if the dishwasher is empty or needs to be emptied. Just a thought.
